Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan laid foundation stone of Kartarpur corridor

SRI KARTARPUR SAHIB: Pakistn Prime Minister Imran Khan today laid the foundation stone of historic Kartarpur Sahib-Dera Baba Nanak corridor here in the presence of Indian leaders Local bodies minister in Punjab Government Navjot Singh Sidhu,Union ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Harsimtrat Kaur Badal and Amritsar MP Gurjit Singh Aujla. SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal was also present besides Tara Singh President of Pakistan Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee.

Imramn Khan gave a call for friendship between two countries and to end hostilaties between India and Pakistan. He said that we have only one key issue of Kashmir and if leaders of both sides are decisive, it can be resolved. He said that both countries had neuclear bombs and war is not possible because nobody will be able to win it. He said that when there was no option of war then the second option is of friendship.He said that there was lot of bloodshed and both countries had committed mistakes in the past.

Imran Khan said that Kartarpur Sahib corridor has opened an opportunity for for both countries to open the borders.He said that he, his government, opposition parties of Pakistan and the army are on one page to begin an era of peace and friendship. He said that it was wrong impression that Paksitan army was dictating terms to political eastablishment. He said that both countries had problem of poverty and by increasing trade between us, poverty cdan be removed. He citerd the edample of France and Germany which fought many wars and killed millions of people and now they are working together to make their economy better. He said that only decisive leadership was required on both the sides.

Imran Khan made a special mention of Navjot Sidhu and said that when he went back to India three months back with a message of peace, he was hounded like anything. He said that he failed to understand reasons for Sidhu's bashing. He thanked the Indian government for responding to his gesture of peace.

Imran Khan assured the Sikhs living all over the world that they will get all facilities when they visit Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib and other shrines in Pakistan. He said that corridor would be ready before November 2019 so that Sikhs can come to celebrate birthday of Guru Nanak Dev ji. He said that he feel contended to see happiness on the faces of Sikhs with the news of corridor opening.

Navjot Sidhu and Harsimrat Kaur thanked the Pakistan and Indian Government for fulfilling the long standing demand of the Sikhs.
