PDA reaches at consensus on seat sharing for Lok Sabha poll: Khaira

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Democratic Alliance(PDA) arrives at consensus on 12 Lok Sabha seats to provide a clean third alternative to the corrupt traditional parties, CPI and RMPI Pasla group joins PDA. This was stated here today by Sukhpal Singh Khaira President of Punjabi Ekta Party.

Khaira said that the six political parties comprising Punjab Ekta Party (PEP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) Punjab Manch led by Dr. Gandhi MP, CPI and RMPI headed by Mangat Ram Pasla have decided to fight the ensuing Lok Sabha elections under the banner of Punjab Democratic Alliance (PDA). The PDA has arrived at a consensus on 12 Lok Sabha seats, that have been allocated party wise.

Bahujan Samaj Party will contest 3 seats Anandpur Sahib, Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur, Punjabi Ekta Party will contest three seats of Bathinda, Faridkot and Khadoor Sahib, Punjab Manch one seat of Patiala, CPI one seat of Ferozepur, RMPI one seat of Gurdaspur.

The PDA has also announced seven candidates. Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi from Patiala, Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra from Khadoor Sahib, Manwinder Singh Giaspur from Fatehgarh Sahib(SC) , Mater Baldev Singh Jaiton from Faridkot(SC), Khushi Ram IAS retd Hoshiarpur seat and Balwinder Kumar from Jalandhar.

Khaira stated that the alliance has been forged to liberate Punjab from the clutches of corrupt traditional parties of Congress, SAD-BJP that have looted the state turn wise for the past many decades. Khaira speaking on behalf of the alliance said that as a result of the misrule of said traditional parties Punjab was facing a colossal debt of Rs. 2.5 lac crores, farmers and farm labourers are committing suicides in large numbers, lacs of youth have been rendered jobless and pushed into the vicious circle of drugs, traders and industrialists are facing the wrath of discriminatory policies of successive central governments, all types of mafia is ruling the roost in Punjab, corruption is at all time high, education and healthcare are in a state of shambles, environment and the river waters have turned poisonous, law and order has broken down giving way to jungle-raj, cruelty with government employees, the aspirations of Dalits and weaker sections are being suppressed by feudal leaders like Capt. Amarinder Singh and the Badals.

Khaira said those present at the meeting included Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi MP of Punjab Manch, Rashpal Singh Raju President BSP Punjab, Simarjit Singh Bains President Lok Insaaf Party, Bant singh Brar of CPI, Mangat Ram Pasla of RMPI Pasla group, MLA Master Baldev Singh Jaiton, Jaswinder Singh Khalsa of LIP and Dr. J.S. Cheema of the Punjab Manch.
