Senior Journalist Devinderejit Singh Darshi nominated member of Senate, Punjabi University, Patiala

CHANDIGARH: Senior Journalist and Chief Editor of WishavWarta.in has been nominated by Punjab Government as member of Senate of the Punjabi University Patiala.

Darshi is also President of Punjab Digital Media Association. All association members including Baljit Balli Chief Patron, Satinder Bains Chairman, Mahavir Jain Senior Vice President, Devinder Singh Kohli General Secretary, H.S.Bawa Vice President, Parminder Singh Jattpury Office Secretary, Parshant Sharma Joint Secretary and senior member Nirmal Singh Mansahia have congratulated Darshi for his achievement.

Devinderjit Singh Darshi was nominated as senate member by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh in recognistion of his long services in the field of media. Bhara Inder Singh Chahal Advisor to Chief Minister and MP and former Union Minister Maharani Preneet Kaur recommeded the name of Darshi for highest decision making body of Punjabi University.

Darshi who belonged to Mansa district of Punjab started his career in journalism during the 80's when militancy was at its peak and he worked for Akali Patrika, the highly circulated newspaper of that time and Nawan Zamana.He remained confident of Sardar Bharpur Singh Balbir and  Sardar Ratnesh Singh Sodhi Chief Editors of Akali Patrika. He also worked for long time with Punjab Kesari and Jagbani at Chandigarh headquarter. After gaining long experience in print media, Darshi started first Punjabi News Agency Wishav Warta and then started online news portal Wishavwarta.in. Now it is one of the most read news portal in India and abroad.

Darshi thanked Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, VIS Chahal and Maharani Preneet Kaur for giving him honour and giving due respect to media persons.
