Sher Singh Ghubaya MP resigns from SAD, Sukhbir Badal expells him

CHANDIGARH: Sher Singh Ghubaya. Member Parliament from Ferozepur today resigned from Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) citing wrong policies of party president Sukhbir Singh Badal reason for quitting the party.

Ghubaya was maintaining distance from SAD due to differences with Sukhbir Singh Badal who had ordered police to raid the college run by Ghubaya family.  Gubaya was SAD MLA from Jalalabad in 1997 and 2007. He had vacated his seat of Jalalabad for Sukhbir Badal and helped him win the seat too. Ghubaya was allotted Ferozepur Lok Sabha seat from where he won twice in 2009 and 2014.

However Sukhbir Badal created distance from Ghubaya before 2017 assembly elections. It was at that stage that Ghubaya's son Devinder Singh Ghubaya joined Congress and contested from Fazilka seat and he was elected to Vidhan Sabha. Ghubaya was upset du3e to raid on his college during SAD rukle in Punjab. He hoe wever continued to be member of SAD.

Ghubaya is expected to contest Ferozepur Lok Sabha seat on Congress ticket in 2019 elections. He said that he was feeling suffocated in Akali Dal.

Meanwhile, Sukhbir Singjh Badal today expelled Ghubaya from primary membership of the party for anti-party activities.
