Two cheaters arrested by District Police after tracing a case of cheating

Boha Police has traced two unknown persons who were responsible for cheating an innocent farmer Major Singh son of Bhagwan Singh resident of Village Bareh Tehsil Budhlada District Mansa. These cheaters have played a fraud of Rs.2.6 lac with the above farmer and the Police party of CIA staff Mansa, making strenuous efforts traced and arrested these cheaters and recovered Rs.1,55,000/- in cash, one AC value of which is 25,500/-, one fridge value of which is Rs.6,500/-, one stabilizer value of which is Rs.3,000/-, one forged number plate, one forged Identity Card and the car used in the incident from them.
Senior Superintendent of Police Mansa Dr. Narinder Bhargav told that on 06.06.2020, one Major Singh son of Shri Bhagwan Singh resident of Bareh Police Station Boha got his statement recorded in Police Station Boha that he is a small farmer. On 2nd June he was returning home after selling his crop through his Commission Agent and he was carrying the whole amount of Rs.2.6 Lac in his bag and started waiting for some transportation on Budhlada-Bareh Road. Meanwhile one Verna Car coming from Budhlada side stopped near him. There were two persons in this car and the Driver of the Car asked the way to Village Mandhali from him. Because the village of the complainant Sh. Major Singh is also situated in the way to Village Mandhali, they offered lift to him which he accepted and accompanied them. During general conversation, Driver of the Car said that he is working as Manager in a Bank and if the loan of the complainant is not waived off still, he can get it waived off. The complainant trusting the driver gave his mobile number to him for future conversation; they dropped him at his destination and went ahead. On the next day, the complainant received a phone call from the alleged Manager asking him to reach in the Bank alongwith the amount of bank limit Rs.2.6 Lac but when the complainant  could not reach in time in the Bank,  they themselves came to his house and the complainant accompanied them alongwith cash amount of Rs.2.6 Lac. They reached in the Bareh Branch of SBI where one person remained inside the Car and the another person went inside the Bank alongwith the complainant.   The person took Rs.2.6 Lac from him and went towards the office of Bank Manager and after sometime he came back and said to the complainant that he should bring the original Aadhar Card, in the meantime he is getting the relevant papers prepared in the Bank. The complainant went to his residence and when he came back in the Bank with original Aadhar Card, both the persons were missing from there and Mobile phone from which they made the call to the complainant was also switched off.  Then he came to know that these persons are cons and they have cheated him. He enquired at his own level but when no whereabouts of these persons came to his knowledge then he came to the Police Station for necessary action. On his statement, FIR No.89 dated 06.06.2020 U/S 420 IPC was registered in the Police Station Boha and the Police started investigation in the case.
Keeping in view the importance of the case, Incharge CIA staff started investigated the case scientifically and traced both the accused namely Manpreet Singh @ Mandeep Singh @ Gaggu s/o Gurmeet Singh resident of Maur Charat Singh (Bathinda) and Gurpal Singh @ Bagga s/o Bikkar Singh resident of Burj Jhabar (PS Joga). After arresting both the accused, the Police recovered the above mentioned amount and items from them. Keeping in view the nature of crime, sections 465, 468 and 473 of IPC were added against them.
SSP Mansa further told that both these persons are professional criminals and one FIR No.67/2014 U/s 420 IPC was already registered against one accused Manpreet Singh @ Mandeep Singh @ Gaggu and three FIRs No. 68/2016 U/s 323,452 IPC PS Joga, FIR No.291/2019 U/s 436,451,427 IPC PS Sadar Mansa and one FIR No.380/2018 U/s 27-A/61/85 NDPS Act PS Sadar Ratia (Haryana) are  already registered against 2nd accused Gurpal Singh @ Bagga. All these cases are pending in the relevant Courts and the accused are on Bail.
Dr. Bhargav further told that 2 days Police remand has been obtained after presenting both these accused in the Judicial Court for further investigation because these accused are professional criminals and some more crimes are likely to come in light after deep investigation.
