"We are proud of our martyrs", says Haryana CM

CHANDIGARH: aryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal said that we are proud of our brave soldiers who attained martyrdom for  the country and Naib Subedar Sombir is one of them. He said that the contribution of Haryana in armed forces is 10 per cent which is a matter of pride for us.

 Manohar Lal today visited the residence of martyr Sombir in village Mithi, district Bhiwani and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family. He was  accompanied by Finance Minister Capt. Abhimanyu.

The Chief Minister said that he salutes to the martyrdom of Naib Subedar Sombir and assured all support and cooperation of the State Government to the family members. He said that the State Government would provide ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh to the family of martyr Sombir besides giving government job to Mrs  Suman, the wife of Sombir according to her eligibility. Apart from this, as per the demand of gram panchayat Mithi, any government institution or park would be named after martyr Sombir.

Manohar Lal expressed condolences to Mrs Suman, wife of martyr Sombir, mother Mrs Rajendri Devi and other family members and  said that the country would always remain indebted to the sacrifice made by him. We are proud of such a brave son, he said adding that the sacrifice made by Sombir would work as a source of inspiration for other youth.

While interacting with the media persons, he said that safety and security of the country is the responsibility of all of us and this issue should not be politicized. Earlier, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to martyr Sombir at the cremation site.

It may be recalled that Naib Subedar Sombir sacrificed his life while fighting with the terrorists in Turigam area of Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir on February 24. His cremation was done with full state honour at his native village Mithi on February 26.
