Khanna warns against influencing Sangrur murder investigations

Referring to the murder of Ricky Dulat, Khanna said, the PCC President Capt Amarinder was personally monitoring the investigation and the party will ensure that justice is not made a casualty under any political pressure.

“Given the sensitivity of the case and the involvement of influential people in the murder there is every possibility of the attempts at influencing the investigations which we won’t allow”, he warned while hoping the police will play an impartial role.

Khanna also promised, once Capt Amarinder becomes the Chief Minister after the assembly elections he will ensure that the land mafia, irrespective of the party affiliation it may claim to, is eliminated.

He pointed out, that the mafia was holding the people of Sangrur to ransom and has already claimed a precious life. He regretted that the government particularly the police had not taken any action so far. “But we must stop it and I promise I will stop it and it would be my first priority once we form the government”, he asserted.
