Punjab CM thanks people for peaceful conduct of SGPC poll

   
##ad_1##CHANDIGARH:  Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister and President, Shiromani Akali Dal Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal thanked the people of Punjab for peaceful conduct of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee elections.

Congratulating the people of the State by ensuring peaceful elections in the State they said that it was a massive exercise but carried out in a free and fair manner sealing the lips of critics.

Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Congress and its front men tried to disrupt poll process by bringing bogus and clean shaven impersonators for casting votes, making an unsuccessful attempt to control SGPC and interfere in the internal religious affairs of Sikhs. “Our opponents tried to create trouble and stop polling process in order to avoid certain humiliating defeat”, says SAD Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Deputy CM complimented the state agencies for the smooth democratic conduct of the poll process.
