Punjab police seized Heroin worth Rs.5 crores

##ad_1##NAWASHAHR: The Banga police today claimed to have seized one kg of heroin worth over Rs 5 crore in the international market, from a resident of Tarn Taran district during a naka. 

Giving details at a press conference here this afternoon, SSP Dr Narinder Bhargav said that following a specific tip-off that some persons were engaged in selling the narcotics in the Banga area, the Banga police under the supervision of DSP Banga Jagwinder Singh Cheema cornered a person alighting from a bus at bus stop at Khatkar Kurd, near Banga. On search, the police recovered one kg of heroin from the possession of the accused who was later identified as Surinder Singh alias Pradhan, resident of village Mugal Chak under Sadar police station at Tarn Taran. The police have registered a case under 21/61/85 of NDPS Act against the accused who is suspected to be associated with some cross-border smugglers of narcotics. Further investigations were on, added the district police chief.
