A four-year-old boy fell into a 220-foot-deep borewell in Dhanora village near Ambala City, Haryana, on Tuesday morning, triggering a large-scale rescue operation involving the district administration, emergency teams, and the Indian Army.
According to officials, the child, identified as Nirbhay, had accompanied his father, uncle, and cousin to the fields at around 6:30 a.m. While playing in his uncle Harnek Singh's field, he reportedly slipped and fell into an uncovered tube well bore.
Family members, who were present nearby at the time of the incident, immediately raised an alarm and informed the village sarpanch. The district administration was alerted without delay, following which rescue teams rushed to the spot.
Considering the depth of the borewell and the complexity of the operation, the district administration sought assistance from the Indian Army. The Deputy Commissioner is personally monitoring the rescue mission.
Medical teams have been deployed at the site, and oxygen supply arrangements have been made to support the rescue operation. Authorities are also using a camera to monitor the child's position inside the borewell.
The Army and civil administration are jointly carrying out excavation and rescue efforts on a war footing to safely bring the child out. Meanwhile, villagers have gathered at the site, praying for the boy's safe rescue as the operation continues.
