Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh-

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has taken strict action against Moga Mayor Baljit Singh Channi, expelling him from the party and removing him from his post with immediate effect, following concrete evidence of his links with drug traffickers.

AAP State General Secretary Harchand Singh Barsat issued the official suspension order, stating that the party has a zero-tolerance policy towards drugs, corruption, and any activities that harm the interest of Punjab and its youth. He said that the party cannot allow anyone involved in wrongful or criminal activities to remain in public office.

Barsat said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has made it clear that no individual, regardless of position, will be spared if found connected to drug networks or compromising the fight against narcotics. The party emphasized that its movement against drugs is uncompromising and aimed at dismantling the nexus of traffickers and their political protectors.
