The AAP held a high-level review meeting in view of the municipal elections to be held on December 21. The meeting was chaired by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and AAP Punjab President Aman Arora. State and district level officials, ministers, MLAs and hundreds of prominent party members attended the meeting.
AAP Punjab president Aman Arora highlighted the enthusiastic participation and positive energy displayed during the meeting, emphasising the party's commitment to transparent and merit-based candidate selection for all 977 wards of the five municipal corporations and 43 committees, councils and nagar panchayats.
He said that under the guidance of party's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and organization general secretary Dr. Sandeep Pathak, we have divided Punjab into 10 zones to ensure a better approach to candidate selection. MPs, MLAs and district level leaders have been included in the screening committee. A nine-member team has been formed in each zone to monitor the selection process.
Arora said that for the first time, 350 party officials actively participated in the screening process, which reflects the party's dedication to inclusiveness and fair representation.
