On the occasion of Baisakhi and Khalsa Sajna Diwas, a strong wave of religious fervor was witnessed at the Golden Temple. Since early morning, long queues of devotees were seen lining up to pay their respects at the holy shrine.
During this time, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s sister, Manpreet Kaur, also visited the Golden Temple. Due to security reasons, she maintained distance from the media and did not respond to any questions.
Devotees described the day as a significant festival in Sikh history, recalling that in 1699, at Sri Anandpur Sahib, Guru Gobind Singh Ji established the Khalsa Panth, giving a new identity and strength to the Sikh community.
The formation of the Panj Pyare was also remembered on this occasion. People extended greetings to each other on Baisakhi and Khalsa Foundation Day. Meanwhile, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee made preparations for an evening celebration, including illumination and fireworks.
