A man allegedly died by suicide in the Verka area of Amritsar after hanging himself. The deceased has been identified as Tajinder Singh. Family members claimed that he had been under mental stress due to ongoing issues with his wife and in-laws.
According to the family, Tajinder had shared his concerns with relatives on several occasions, but the situation did not improve. His brother, Kulwinder Singh, said Tajinder had been married for around 15 years and is survived by two children. He alleged that the deceased had been facing emotional distress for some time.
The family further claimed that before taking the extreme step, Tajinder recorded a video and posted it on social media, in which he levelled serious allegations against his in-laws and held them responsible for his death. However, police said the authenticity and contents of the video will be examined as part of the investigation.
Kulwinder Singh also alleged that the family was informed about the death by an acquaintance and not by the in-laws. After receiving the information, relatives reached the spot and alerted the police.
The family has demanded a fair investigation into the case and urged authorities to examine the video as evidence. They said legal action should be taken if anyone is found responsible.
Police officials said a team reached the scene after receiving information about the incident. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further action will be taken based on the report, statements of family members, the video, and other evidence collected during the investigation.
