Amritsar Commissionerate Police has busted an illegal arms supply network and arrested three accused, recovering two AK-47 rifles, three magazines and 50 live cartridges from their possession.

According to police, the preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were in contact with an arms smuggler based abroad. They are suspected of supplying illegal weapons to criminal elements operating in Punjab.

A case has been registered at Chheharta police station in Amritsar. Police are questioning the arrested accused to identify other members linked to the network and are probing their backward and forward links to determine the source and intended recipients of the weapons.
