Amritsar Commissionerate Police has dismantled three separate networks involved in illegal arms and drug trafficking, arresting five accused and recovering nine illegal pistols along with 6.311 kilograms of heroin.
According to preliminary investigations, the arrested individuals were allegedly in contact with handlers operating from abroad. Police said the accused received consignments of illegal weapons and narcotics on the instructions of these foreign-based operators and were responsible for delivering them to designated recipients.
Officials stated that further investigations are underway to identify other members of the network and uncover the masterminds behind the operation. Three FIRs have been registered in connection with the case at Cantonment and Chheharta police stations in Amritsar.
Agencies Probe Forward and Backward Links
Investigating agencies are examining both the forward and backward links of the accused to determine the source of the weapons and heroin, as well as the individuals and groups to whom the contraband was supplied. Efforts are also underway to identify additional suspects connected to the network.

Amritsar Commissionerate Police said the operation is part of a broader effort to dismantle entire networks involved in illegal arms and drug trafficking. Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to taking strict action against cross-border narcotics and weapons smuggling syndicates operating in the state.
