Amritsar Rural Police have exposed a major drug trafficking network, arresting one accused and recovering 6 kilograms of heroin from his possession. The seized contraband is estimated to be worth around ₹42 crore in the international market.

According to police officials, the action was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs regarding the movement of a large consignment of narcotics in the area. Acting swiftly, the police set up a naka (checkpoint) and apprehended the suspect. A thorough search led to the recovery of a significant quantity of heroin.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused was working under the direction of a handler based in Dubai (UAE). The handler has been identified as Anterpreet Singh, a resident of Sultanwind area in Amritsar. Police sources indicate that Anterpreet Singh has a history of involvement in multiple drug trafficking cases and several FIRs have already been registered against him.

Further investigation is underway to uncover the entire network and trace other links connected to the international drug syndicate.
