A 36-year-old man from Batala, Punjab, died in a tragic road accident in Melbourne, Australia, after a heavy vehicle crashed into his parked car, leaving his family in deep shock.
The deceased has been identified as Snehpal Singh, who had been living in Melbourne for the past 11 years. According to family members, the accident occurred on Saturday when Snehpal had stopped his car on the roadside and was sitting inside it. A truck coming from behind allegedly rammed into the stationary vehicle with tremendous force.
The impact severely damaged the car and Snehpal died on the spot before emergency services could save him.
Snehpal was the only son of his parents and the youngest member of the family. He worked for a private company in Melbourne and had married about 18 months ago. His wife is a dental surgeon and was also residing in Melbourne.
His maternal uncle, Kashmir Singh, said that Snehpal was known as a careful and responsible driver. During his 11 years in Australia, there had never been any complaint regarding rash or negligent driving.
The news of his sudden death has plunged the family into mourning. His parents, sister, and brother-in-law are currently in Batala, while his elder sister living in Canada has left for Australia after receiving the tragic news. Another sister is already settled in Melbourne with her family and is assisting the bereaved family there.
Relatives and residents of Batala have expressed grief over the untimely death of the young expatriate, whose journey abroad had once begun with hopes of a brighter future for his family.
