Several schools in Chandigarh once again received bomb threats through email on Thursday, triggering panic among students, parents and school authorities.

The threats were sent to Delhi Public School Sector 40 Chandigarh and Chitkara International School, following which police, bomb disposal squads and forensic teams rushed to the campuses.

After receiving the threatening emails, school administrations immediately informed the police. Security agencies evacuated the premises and launched intensive search operations. Bomb squads and dog squads thoroughly checked every section of the schools. However, after several hours of investigation, no suspicious object was found.

The threatening email was reportedly sent to Chitkara International School, Strawberry Fields High School and DPS Sector 40. The message claimed that bomb blasts would take place in Chandigarh schools at 1 PM.

It also mentioned a blast at the office of Nayab Singh Saini at 3:11 PM and included pro-Khalistan slogans. The email further stated that the attackers were not against children and urged people to “save their children.”

Police officials said investigations are underway to trace the source of the email and identify those responsible for spreading panic.

This is not the first such incident in Chandigarh. Several schools in the city have received similar bomb threats in the past as well. In previous cases too, extensive searches were carried out, but no explosives or suspicious materials were found.
