Punjab Newsline | Patiala
Several reputed schools in Patiala received threatening emails once again, sparking panic across the city. Following the threat, school administrations acted swiftly and sent urgent messages to parents, requesting them to pick up their children immediately to ensure their safety.
As soon as the emails were noticed, school authorities informed the police. Teams, along with bomb disposal squads, reached the locations and carried out detailed inspections of the premises. Officials stated that efforts are underway, with the help of the cyber cell, to trace the origin of the emails. Police have also urged the public to remain calm and not believe in rumors.
After receiving alerts from schools, a large number of parents rushed to pick up their children, leading to heavy crowds outside school gates. Traffic congestion was reported on several major roads in the city due to the sudden rush.
It is worth noting that similar threats had been reported earlier, when around 12 schools in Patiala, including Bhupindra International School, received bomb threat emails. Precautionary measures were taken at that time as well, with schools declaring holidays.
Apart from Patiala, similar threats have also been reported at courts and institutions in Chandigarh. Police are currently investigating the source of the emails.
