Abohar witnessed panic on Wednesday morning after several prominent schools received bomb threats via email. Following the alert, Assumption Convent School, DAV School, and other private educational institutions were immediately evacuated as a precautionary measure.

According to officials, the threatening email was received at around 8:51 am and mentioned 1:30 pm as the time for the alleged explosion. The message created panic among school authorities, teachers, students, and parents.

In response to the threat, most schools declared a holiday and informed parents to ensure students returned home safely. Police and administrative officials rushed to the affected institutions and began security checks.

Shyam Lal Arora, President of the Recognized and Affiliated School Association, said the email specifically mentioned Assumption Convent School along with several other private schools. He added that all concerned schools were being evacuated in view of student safety and security.

The police administration has been placed on high alert, and a thorough investigation is underway to identify the sender of the threatening email. Security agencies are also examining the email’s origin and verifying whether the threat is genuine or a hoax.
