A mother and her son were seriously injured in a car-bike collision in Abohar on Wednesday morning. Both injured persons were given primary treatment at Sito Gunno Hospital before being referred to AIIMS Bathinda due to their critical condition.
According to information, Jaswant, son of Kuldeep Singh and a resident of village Doda, was returning home on a motorcycle with his mother, Sukhbir Kaur, after visiting a village near Dabwali to tie Rakhi to her brother. When they reached near the cowshed at Sito Gunno, their motorcycle collided with a Creta car that was entering the main road from a link road.
The collision was so severe that the front portion of the motorcycle was completely damaged. Jaswant and his mother fell onto the road and sustained serious injuries.
On receiving information, nearby residents alerted the Road Safety Force. The team reached the spot and shifted the injured mother and son by ambulance to Sito Gunno Hospital. Considering their serious condition, doctors referred them to AIIMS Bathinda for further treatment.
The Creta car was also damaged in the accident. The driver was identified as Sumit Kumar, son of Gopal Das, a resident of Sito Gunno. Kuldeep Singh, husband of the injured woman and father of Jaswant, also reached the spot after learning about the incident.
Police have started an investigation into the accident.
