A tragic road accident in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district claimed the lives of a father and his seven-year-old son, while his seven-year-old daughter, who went missing after the accident, was found safe on Monday morning following an overnight search operation.
The accident took place near Bhatnol on the Shillai-Rohanat road on Sunday night when Sohan, who was posted at the Shillai Tehsil Office, was travelling to his home in Kamota in his private vehicle along with his two children.
According to information, the vehicle suddenly went out of control near Bhatnol and plunged into a deep gorge. The impact was so severe that Sohan and his seven-year-old son died on the spot.
However, his seven-year-old daughter could not be traced after the accident, prompting an extensive search operation involving family members, villagers and the administration throughout the night.
On Monday morning, an administrative team led by SDM Jaspal, along with local residents, launched a search operation with the assistance of drones. After considerable efforts, the girl was located safe in a field in a nearby village.
It is learnt that following the accident, the child had started walking towards her home during the night but lost her way and eventually reached another village.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves across Shillai and neighbouring areas. The deaths of two members of the same family have plunged the region into mourning, while the safe recovery of the little girl has brought immense relief to her family and local residents.
