Amid rising inflation, cement prices in Himachal Pradesh have increased again, making house construction more expensive for consumers. Cement companies raised prices by ₹5 per bag on Friday, just 10 days after a similar hike was implemented on September 15.
According to cement dealers Pawan, Rohit, Manoj, and Rakesh, companies had already increased prices by ₹5 per bag earlier this month. With the latest revision, the cumulative increase has reached ₹10 per bag within a span of 10 days, adding to the financial burden on home builders and contractors.
Following the latest hike, the price of ACC Suraksha cement has increased from ₹415 to ₹425 per bag, while ACC Gold now costs ₹475 per bag, up from ₹465. Bangur Cement has risen from ₹390 to ₹400 per bag. UltraTech Cement is currently being sold at around ₹405 per bag.
The continuous rise in cement prices is expected to have a direct impact on construction budgets. Consumers purchasing 50 bags of cement will now have to spend approximately ₹500 more than they would have 10 days ago. For 100 bags, the additional expense will be around ₹1,000. The extra cost becomes significantly higher for large-scale construction projects that require hundreds of cement bags.
Dealers said that sales are being carried out according to the revised rates issued by the cement companies, with the latest price increase now in effect across the market.
