The District and Sessions Court in Charkhi Dadri has pronounced its verdict in an around eight-year-old attempt to murder case, sentencing Om Prakash, a resident of Dagdoli village, to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.
According to case details, a complaint was registered against the accused at Badhra Police Station in 2018 under charges of attempt to murder, assault, and criminal intimidation. During the hearing, the prosecution presented witnesses and evidence that proved the charges in court.
Sessions Judge Dr. Gagandeep Kaur Singh convicted the accused under multiple sections of the law. The court awarded 10 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of ₹10,000 under Section 307, six months imprisonment and a fine of ₹1,000 under Section 323, and three years imprisonment with a fine of ₹5,000 under Section 506.
The court stated that all sentences will run concurrently. In case of non-payment of fines, the convict will have to undergo additional imprisonment. After the verdict, the accused was taken into judicial custody and sent to Bhiwani District Jail.
