Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has reportedly received a bomb threat through an email, triggering a high alert among security and intelligence agencies. The threatening message allegedly used the names of Khalistan National Army (KNA) and Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and warned of an attack on the Chief Minister.
According to reports, the email specifically claimed that Mann would be targeted during a visit to Bathinda on September 5. Following the threat, security agencies have intensified surveillance and launched an investigation to trace the source of the email.
The message also compared Chief Minister Mann with former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh and accused him of taking action against Sikh youth. In addition, the email reportedly threatened attacks at court premises and other locations.
The threat email further mentioned the names of several individuals allegedly linked to Khalistan National Army and Babbar Khalsa International. It also referred to Dilawar Singh, who was involved as a human bomb in the assassination of former Chief Minister Beant Singh, and urged people to educate their children about him.
Authorities are treating the threat seriously and are working to verify its authenticity while ensuring enhanced security arrangements for the Chief Minister and other sensitive locations across the state.
