A joint team of the CM Flying Squad and the Food Safety Department conducted a raid at Bikaner Misthan Bhandar in Rampura on Tuesday and collected samples of chhena toast and khoya for quality testing.
The operation lasted around one-and-a-half hours, during which the team collected two samples from the shop. These will be sent to a laboratory for testing, and further action will be taken as per the rules after the report is received.
Food Safety Officer (FSO) Gulab Singh said the joint team visited the sweet shop following a message received from the CM Flying Squad. The team collected samples of sweets and khoya to assess their quality and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
He said the demand for sweets and other food items rises during the festive season. To ensure that consumers receive quality food products, the department has been conducting inspection drives at various locations. During these drives, samples are collected and sent to laboratories for examination.
Gulab Singh clarified that the quality of the sampled products would be determined only after the laboratory reports are received. If any irregularities are found, the department will initiate further action in accordance with the rules.
