CM Saini honours the nation’s change-makers at ‘Tribune Achievers Awards–2025’

Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh-

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini honoured distinguished personalities from across the country at the Tribune Achievers Awards–2025 held on Saturday evening. He described the awardees as “change-makers,” stating that their remarkable contributions in fields such as education, healthcare, sports, industry, science, culture, entrepreneurship and social service are strengthening the nation’s development.

Addressing the ceremony organized by The Tribune Trust, the CM congratulated all award recipients and appreciated the long-standing legacy of public service carried forward by The Tribune. He described the 145-year-old institution as a symbol of integrity, courage and journalistic excellence. CM Saini remembered the visionary contribution of the newspaper’s founder, Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, who donated his entire estate to the Trust in 1881 and ensured its independence by keeping family influence away from its governance.

CM Saini noted that The Tribune was the only newspaper that did not stop publication even during the Partition of India. It was published from Lahore on 14 August 1947 and from Shimla the very next day, on 15 August, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to public welfare.

Calling the Tribune Achievers Awards–2025 a national movement rather than merely an award ceremony, CM Saini said the platform recognizes talent, inspires excellence and strengthens the spirit of a rising India. He added that achievers from various fields represent resilience, discipline and innovation, and their accomplishments serve as a source of inspiration for the youth.

Referring to the state government’s talent recognition policy, the CM highlighted several major awards given in Haryana to teachers, scientists, athletes, artists, employees, women achievers and social contributors. These include the State Teacher Awards, Haryana Vigyan Ratna Awards, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Good Governance Awards, Kalpana Chawla Haryana Solar Award, Sushma Swaraj Award and the Indira Gandhi Mahila Shakti Award.

Urging achievers to guide the next generation, he said true progress lies in empowering others. CM Saini added that if today’s achiever can inspire a hundred more tomorrow, the dream of a “Developed India” envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi could be realized even before 2047.

He concluded by paying tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Diwas.
