A Congress programme titled “Har Booth Congress Mazboot” witnessed dramatic scenes in Fazilka after party workers raised slogans in support of Charanjit Singh Channi and Sher Singh Ghubaya while senior leaders were addressing the gathering.
Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and Punjab Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel, Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, and several other senior leaders were present on the stage when the sloganeering began.
As the slogans grew louder, a section of workers attempted to move towards the stage, prompting police personnel to intervene. After a period of commotion and heated exchanges, the protesters were removed from the venue and the situation was brought under control.
Baghel later warned that individuals trying to disrupt Congress organisational programmes were being identified and that a report would be sent to Rahul Gandhi for further action.
