Panic gripped Sirsa after Kulbir Singh alias Nikka, grandson of Congress leader Pohla Singh Gill, was allegedly killed in a targeted attack at the bus stand. The incident took place on Wednesday when Kulbir Singh was present there with his brother and nephew.

According to preliminary information, a group of unidentified assailants allegedly ambushed Kulbir Singh and attacked him with sharp-edged weapons. He suffered serious injuries in the assault. He was rushed for medical treatment, but succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.

Kulbir Singh’s brother and nephew also sustained injuries in the attack and are undergoing treatment.

Kulbir Singh, a resident of Jhorad village, had recently been released on bail after being lodged in jail in connection with a murder case. Given his previous involvement in the case and the timing of the attack, police are also investigating the possibility of an old enmity behind the killing.

Police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and launched an investigation. The body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination.

Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the bus stand and surrounding areas to identify the attackers. Police are also questioning eyewitnesses and conducting searches to trace and arrest those involved in the murder.
