Vote counting is underway across West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry, painting a dynamic political picture with contrasting scenes of celebration and uncertainty.

In Kolkata, the office of Trinamool Congress appeared unusually quiet through the morning, with little activity visible outside. This comes as early trends show the Bharatiya Janata Party gaining ground in the state, sparking celebrations among party workers.

Meanwhile, at BJP offices in the city, senior leaders including Bhupender Yadav and Sanjay Jaiswal were seen arriving as the party’s momentum built up.

In Siliguri, BJP supporters gathered outside party offices, celebrating with saffron-colored gulal, exchanging greetings, and raising slogans in support of the party.

The national capital New Delhi witnessed a festive atmosphere at the BJP headquarters, where preparations included traditional sweets like puri and jalebi and the arrival of band-baja teams. Party workers have been asked to assemble by evening, with Narendra Modi scheduled to visit the headquarters around 7 PM.

In the south, Chennai saw shifting moods at the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam headquarters, Anna Arivalayam. While there was initial enthusiasm, tents set up for celebrations are now being dismantled as early trends indicate the party slipping to third place. Interestingly, the debutant Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has emerged as a strong contender in early counting trends, adding a new dimension to the electoral battle.

As counting progresses, the political landscape across these regions continues to evolve, with parties recalibrating expectations based on the fast-changing trends.
