Punjab Revenue Minister S. Hardeep Singh Mundian said the state’s Easy Registry initiative has significantly streamlined property registration by making the process faster, transparent and citizen-friendly.
Launched as a pilot in Mohali in July 2025, the system allows online deed preparation, fee payment, pre-scrutiny, digital Fard generation, e-KYC and WhatsApp updates. It also enables citizens to register properties at any Sub-Registrar office within the district.
According to surveys covering 6,623 beneficiaries, 93% were satisfied with the new process, while 93% said their registry was completed on the scheduled appointment date. Around 90% reported facing no issues, and 94% said they faced no pressure for extra payments.
Most applicants complete registration in around 35 minutes, while the FIFO system and 48-hour scrutiny window have helped reduce waiting time and repeated visits.
Since its launch, 9,87,425 documents have been registered across Punjab till September 8, 2026, highlighting the widespread adoption of the system. Mundian said Easy Registry is emerging as a model for citizen-centric and technology-driven governance.
