The employees of Haryana Boards, Corporations, Companies and Cooperative Institutions who joined service on or after January 1, 2006 and fall under the New Defined Contributory Pension Scheme (NPS) will now be extended the benefit of Death-cum-Retirement Gratuity.
A letter in this regard has been issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, who also holds the charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, to the Managing Directors, Chief Administrators and Chief Executive Officers of all Boards, Corporations, Companies and Cooperative Institutions in the state.
Referring to the Finance Department’s communication dated January 19, 2017, the letter states that employees of the State Government covered under NPS shall be eligible to receive Retirement Gratuity and Death Gratuity in the same manner as provided to employees under CSR Volume-2.
They have been directed to sanction Retirement/Death Gratuity only after thorough scrutiny and verification of cases. It has also been clarified that the additional financial liability arising from these benefits will be borne by the concerned Board or Corporation from its own resources.
