A farmer’s house in Tusa village of Ludhiana Rural was sealed early Tuesday morning in the presence of heavy police deployment following a court order for loan recovery.
The action was taken against farmer Pyara Singh, who had an outstanding loan of around ₹46.28 lakh, including accumulated interest. Police cordoned off the village in the morning and restricted the entry of outsiders, initially creating panic among residents.
Officials of Reliance Commercial Finance Ltd. and Authum Investment & Infrastructure Ltd. were provided police security amid apprehensions of opposition during the recovery proceedings.
According to officials, a recovery case involving Pyara Singh, his wife Surinder Kaur, and other family members was initially valued at around ₹32.07 lakh. With interest accumulating, the outstanding amount increased to ₹46.28 lakh.
A Ludhiana court on Monday ordered the family to vacate the property. During Tuesday’s action, Pyara Singh and his family members were removed from the house, following which officials sealed the property and locked it.
