In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab, in a joint operation with Mohali (SAS Nagar) Police, has arrested a key associate of foreign-based gangsters. Authorities recovered a .32 bore pistol along with five live cartridges from the accused.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested individual was in direct contact with gang handlers operating from abroad and was executing their instructions. According to intelligence inputs, the accused had been assigned multiple potential targets across the Tricity region Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula. These targets were linked to planned criminal activities that had reportedly been in the pipeline for some time.
Sources further disclosed that the accused was receiving real-time directions from his overseas handlers and had been conducting reconnaissance of targeted locations. Investigators also found that he had been supplied with weapons to carry out the planned attacks at a designated time.
Security agencies are continuing their probe to uncover the broader network and prevent any potential threats in the region.
