Former Punjab Cabinet Minister Bhagat Chunni Lal passed away on Thursday, leaving behind a legacy of public service. He was the father of Punjab Horticulture, Freedom Fighters and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat.
Expressing grief over his father’s demise, Mohinder Bhagat shared the news on social media, stating that the family is deeply saddened by the loss. “My respected father, former Cabinet Minister Chunni Lal Bhagat, is no longer among us. His passing is an irreparable loss for our family,” he said.
Leaders and representatives of various religious, social, political and business organizations have extended their condolences to the bereaved family.
The last rites of Bhagat Chunni Lal will be performed on September 10, 2026, at 5:00 pm.
