The free petrol langar scheduled in Sectors 10 and 7 of Chandigarh will not be held for now. Businessman Rakesh Trehan, popularly known as ‘Raja D King’, announced that the event will remain suspended until permission is granted by the police and local administration.
Trehan appealed to the public not to gather at petrol pumps or any other locations to collect free fuel. He said the previous event on April 18 witnessed an overwhelming turnout, and heavy rain further worsened the situation. The large number of vehicles led to traffic congestion and inconvenience for commuters.
He stated that organizing the event again without official approval would not be appropriate. The next date for the free petrol langar will be announced only after the necessary permissions are received from authorities.
Trehan also clarified that the earlier announcement regarding the petrol langar from August 21 to 23 stands cancelled. He urged people not to rely on old social media posts and avoid visiting Sector-10 petrol pump or other locations for free petrol, as unnecessary crowds could create safety and traffic issues.
