Haryana Agriculture And Farmers’ Welfare Department Will Organise A Webinar For Farmers, Arhtiyas And Other Stakeholders On The Utilisation Of Funds For Agricultural Infrastructure Under

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department will organise a webinar for farmers, arhtiyas and other stakeholders on the utilisation of funds for agricultural infrastructure under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ economic package from 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. on September 11, 2020. Discussion will also be held on the benefits of the new farm ordinances promulgated by the Central Government to boost agricultural reforms.

The webinar will be chaired by Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. J. P. Dalal.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department said that the discussions during the webinar would enable the stakeholders to fully participate in and benefit from the agricultural reforms being brought about in the State.

The first session of the webinar would see a discussion on utilisation of funds to facilitate post harvest management and supply chain under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund set up under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’. This session would be attended by senior officials from various departments, boards, corporations and banks related to the agriculture sector.

The second session would be aimed at informing and educating all the stakeholders about the implementation and benefits of the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Ordinance, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Ordinance, 2020, and the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Ordinance, 2020, and dispelling any misperceptions regarding the provisions of these ordinances. The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund would also be discussed. As many as 25 progressive farmers, ten representatives of Farmer Producer Organisations, five arhtiyas or traders, five rice millers and five cotton ginners have been invited to participate in this session.

The webinar is being organised jointly by the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department and the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board.
