Farmer leader Sarvan Singh Pandher held talks with Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana in the presence of the Ambala Deputy Commissioner, where the government received a memorandum outlining two key demands from protesting farmers.

The first demand sought the immediate release of farmer leader Gurnam Singh Charuni, while the second called for formal talks between farmer representatives and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Following the meeting, Minister Rana said the Haryana government had agreed to both demands. He assured that Charuni would be released at the earliest and that a meeting between farmers and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would be arranged within the next week.

The development came as farmers from Punjab began their march towards Delhi on Tuesday to protest the proposed India–US trade deal. A large number of farmers gathered at the Shambhu border, where they were stopped by Haryana Police. Farmer groups had also started assembling in Fatehgarh Sahib and Khanauri from Monday night ahead of the march.
