Haryana Sports And Youth Affairs Department Has Directed All District Sports Officers Of The State To Setup One Youth Club Consisting 10-15 Youth Members In Each Village At The Earliest

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department has directed all District Sports Officers of the State to setup one youth club consisting 10-15 youth members in each village at the earliest.

Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Mr. Yogendra Chaudhary said that a letter in this regard, has been issued by the department to all District Sports Officers.

He said that State Government has decided that an organized youth organization is necessary in every village of the district, in which those boys/ girls from every section of the village should be selected who have the spirit of doing social service and can provide social service in their village, district, state and even at national level if needed.

He said that where Yuva Mandal is already functioning in every village of the district and where there is no Yuva Mandal then New Yuva Mandals should be constituted.

The old youth Mandal should be revived and their registration certificate and list of Executive Members should be listed in the youth branch of the office of the District Sports and Youth Program Officer so that the newly formed youth Mandal can be trained from time to time, said Mr. Yogender.

He further said that to complete this task, assistance will be taken from Chief Executive Officer, Panchayati Raj, Block and Panchayat Development Officer, various units of Nehru Yuva Kendra and District Administration. Besides this, National, State and District Youth Award winners will also be also included in this campaign.

He said that youth clubs while giving a positive direction to the energy of the youth can play a pivotal role in awakening the society by organizing awareness campaign through social activities for drug eradication, environmental protection, women empowerment and dowry system, HIV AIDS, drugs and other social evils. A live example of this was highlighted during COVID-19 Pandemic, when youth worked with the administration in preparing and distributing food for the helpless, helping to maintain social distance, distribution of sanitizers, masks and arrangements for providing drinking water as also playing an important role in organizing blood donation camps etc.
