The Special Task Force of Haryana Police has achieved a significant breakthrough with the successful apprehension of Rakesh alias Kala Khairmpuria, a highly notorious criminal known for his extensive involvement in serious and violent crimes across Haryana. Rakesh, who also operated under aliases such as Kala Khairmpuria, had been evading law enforcement agencies since he jumped his parole in 2020. Throughout this period, he continued to orchestrate criminal activities initially from within India and after fleeing abroad from countries like UAE, Armenia and Thailand.
Rakesh's criminal record began way back in 2014 and he has been charged with offences which include dacoity, robbery, murder, and illegal possession of firearms. Finally, he was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for a murder that he committed in 2015 in the area of Police Station Bhadra, Distt. Hanumangarh. He was sentenced in 2018 and after serving the sentence till 2020, he was released on parole and he never reported back. During this period, he evaded arrest and further expanded his criminal operations in Haryana and neighbouring states.
He committed another murder in Village Darauli in the area of PS Bhattu Kalan, Distt. Fatehabad in 2021. Kala could not be arrested and was declared a proclaimed offender (PO) in 2023.
