Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday addressed a press conference at Haryana Niwas and shared details of statewide programmes to mark Sant Shri Guru Ravidas Ji’s 650th Prakash Utsav, the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, and Partition Horrors Remembrance Day (Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas).
Chief Minister said that, as in previous years, Tiranga Yatras will be organised across Haryana from August 9 to August 17. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in 2022 as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, and the initiative has now grown into a major people’s movement across the country.
Saini announced that this year’s Har Ghar Tiranga campaign has been dedicated to the spirit of “Vande Mataram”. He said that combining Har Ghar Tiranga with Vande Mataram provides a significant opportunity to connect the younger generation with India’s glorious history and the freedom struggle. He emphasised that the campaign is not merely a government programme but a national festival driven by public participation.
As part of the campaign, schools and colleges will host exhibitions showcasing the history of the Tricolour and Vande Mataram. Educational institutions will also organise essay-writing, painting, and speech competitions, along with events highlighting the contribution of local freedom fighters.
Chief Minister further informed that a special Tiranga Concert inspired by the spirit of Vande Mataram will be held in Mahendragarh on August 9.
During the press conference, Saini also expressed happiness over the performance of Indian athletes at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. He said that India secured fourth place with a total of 39 medals.
He highlighted that Haryana athletes contributed 10 medals to India’s tally, including 7 of the country’s 13 gold medals, and noted with pride that five of those gold medals were won by women athletes from Haryana. Calling it a matter of great pride for the state, the Chief Minister congratulated the players and said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is making continuous progress in sports due to a strong sports policy and better facilities for athletes.
