Chandigarh witnessed a sudden tightening of security following the recent blasts in Jalandhar and Amritsar. In the wake of the explosion outside the BSF headquarters in Jalandhar, authorities have taken immediate precautionary measures, particularly at the Punjab Police Headquarters in Sector-9.
The main gate of the headquarters has been reinforced with bulletproof protection, while additional police personnel have been deployed outside the premises. Every individual entering or exiting the area is being thoroughly checked as part of heightened security protocols.
Since early morning, increased police movement has been observed across the area, with a noticeable rise in surveillance activity. Officials stated that these changes have been implemented as a precaution, given the sensitive nature of the location.
Chandigarh Police PCR teams are conducting continuous patrols around the headquarters, and vigilance has been stepped up in nearby areas. Security agencies are maintaining strict monitoring, especially because the vicinity also houses key establishments, including the office of Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria.
Authorities have been closely tracking movement in the area since late night, ensuring no risks are taken amid the ongoing high alert situation.
