Vedanshi Sharma’s novel titled My Ekphrastic Diary was launched by the District Commissioner, Solan (HP), Manmohan Sharma. While speaking at the launch event Vedanshi Sharma shared her inspiration for writing this book,” Writing gives me joy.” Vedanshi followed her passion as she started writing diaries at an early age of 8. Through her parents she came to know about the writing genre—-the Ekphrastic. Influenced by the ekphrastic writings, she decided to write one of its kind her first ekphrastic diary capturing the most important landmarks of her life.
The book contains stories about the cruel schoolmates who won’t give a second thought before killing an innocent insect. In this book she shares her memories of being bullied in the school. Vedanshi writes about her experiences of the good times spent with her friends, her teachers, her parents. She writes about her younger sister Vani (or Nirvana) whom she loves a lot. But it’s Vani who irritates her the most. She writes about the reactions to her Daddy and Mother at home—-their lives (in relation to the kids), their promises (true and false).
