Himachal Pradesh government has opened 24 rooms across four government guest houses in New Delhi, Chandigarh and Shimla for online booking by the general public. The move is aimed at making government accommodation more accessible and convenient for visitors.
The government has also reduced the tariff for these designated rooms from ₹4,000 to ₹3,000 per room per day, inclusive of all taxes. Bookings will be made through the Him Atithi portal after the completion of the required technical arrangements.
The 24 rooms available for online booking include seven rooms at Himachal Bhawan, New Delhi; four at Himachal Sadan, New Delhi; three at Himachal Bhawan, Chandigarh; and 10 at Willy’s Park Circuit House, Shimla.
Bookings can be made up to three days before the date of arrival. A reservation will be confirmed only after the advance payment of ₹3,000 per room is made. The portal will facilitate payments through net banking, QR code, UPI, debit cards and credit cards.
Government has also laid down specific cancellation rules. If a booking is cancelled at least 24 hours before the 12 noon check-in time, 10 per cent of the deposited room charges will be deducted and the remaining amount refunded. In case the General Administration Department cancels a booking, the entire deposited amount will be refunded.
Meanwhile, the tariff for other rooms at the four government guest houses will remain unchanged at ₹1,200 per room per day, inclusive of all taxes.
To ensure wider access, around 40 per cent of the designated rooms will be released for booking at 12 noon on each working day, while the remaining 60 per cent will be made available at 5 pm.
The initiative is expected to provide visitors with a transparent and convenient online mechanism for securing accommodation at Himachal Pradesh government guest houses.
