A man has been arrested in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district for allegedly raping his two minor nieces in a shocking case reported from the Telka area of Salooni subdivision.
Police registered the case after receiving a complaint from the victims' family and have launched an investigation under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to the police, the accused allegedly sexually assaulted the two minor girls on separate occasions. The incidents came to light after the victims informed their parents about the alleged abuse, leaving the family devastated.
Following the disclosure, the girls' father approached Chamba Sadar Police Station and lodged a formal complaint against the accused. Acting swiftly, police arrested the uncle and took him into custody.
The accused has undergone a medical examination and is being produced before the court.
