The wet spell in Himachal Pradesh is likely to continue, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Shimla, forecasting light to moderate rain in several parts of the state on October 8 and 9. The weather department has also warned of thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in some areas.
On October 8, isolated parts of Kangra and Mandi are likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds. Wind speeds may reach 30-40 kmph, with gusts potentially touching 50 kmph.
Similar weather conditions are possible at isolated places in Shimla, where thunderstorms and gusty winds have also been forecast. Winds in the area could reach 30-40 kmph, with gusts of up to 50 kmph.
Meanwhile, light rain and snowfall are likely at isolated places in higher-altitude areas on October 8 and 9. Higher regions of Chamba, Kangra and Kullu may also witness rain or snowfall during this period.
The weather is expected to gradually improve from October 10. According to the IMD's seven-day warning chart, no special weather warning has been issued for October 10 to October 13, indicating relatively calmer conditions across the state.
