A case of violent assault involving sharp-edged weapons has been reported from the Shivpuri area of Ludhiana. The Daresi police have registered an FIR against nine accused under various sections of law.

According to the complaint filed by Mohammad Yunis, a resident of Santosh Nagar, Shivpuri, the incident took place on May 2 around 2 PM when his mother Shahida and wife Hina were at home. Yunis alleged that his brother-in-law Waris Shah and sister-in-law Gulista forcibly entered the house.

The accused allegedly attempted to take his wife along with them. When Yunis’ mother objected, she was assaulted. Upon Yunis’ arrival, the accused reportedly called in more associates, after which all of them attacked the family with sharp weapons.

The victim and his family members were beaten and allegedly threatened with death during the attack. After carrying out the assault, all the accused fled the scene.

Police have named Waris Shah, Rashid Shah, Dilsad, Ahmad, Shabina, Babli, Gulista, Rubina, and Ikhlaq Shah in the FIR. Officials from Daresi police station confirmed that raids are being conducted to apprehend the accused, and arrests are expected soon.
