Leaders of 25 political parties attended the seventh meeting of the INDIA bloc on Monday, marking the alliance’s first major gathering in nearly two years. The meeting was held in New Delhi, with leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Akhilesh Yadav, Mamata Banerjee, Supriya Sule and Kapil Sibal participating. Uddhav Thackeray and Hemant Soren joined the meeting virtually.

Addressing the media after the meeting, Kharge said the discussions lasted for more than two hours and resulted in consensus on five major issues. He alleged that the NEET examination controversy had betrayed the country's youth and demanded the immediate resignation of the Union Education Minister, holding him responsible for alleged irregularities in NEET and CBSE-related matters.

The Congress president also announced that the INDIA bloc would hold meetings every two months to discuss inflation, unemployment, and the state of the economy. He said the alliance would write to the Chief Justice of India regarding concerns over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the fairness of the election process.

Kharge confirmed that the next INDIA bloc meeting will be held in Hyderabad on August 8. Opposition leaders are also expected to coordinate closely during the upcoming Parliament Monsoon Session.
Posters Targeting Rahul Gandhi Spark Brief Political Row
Earlier in the day, posters carrying the photograph of Rahul Gandhi and critical messages against the Congress party appeared on Akbar Road in New Delhi. The identity of those responsible for putting up the posters remained unknown.
Later, Youth Congress workers reached the spot and tore down the posters. One of the posters featured a photograph of Sharad Pawar along with a message alleging that Rahul Gandhi lacked consistency in his political positions.
