The renewed military confrontation between Iran and Israel has pushed West Asia closer to a major regional crisis, prompting the Indian government to issue a high alert for its citizens. The Indian Embassy in Tehran has advised Indian nationals to avoid travel to Iran and urged those currently in the country to leave immediately using available means.
The advisory comes amid a sharp escalation in hostilities, with missile strikes, air raids, and retaliatory attacks intensifying across the region. Tensions flared again on Monday as Iran and Israel exchanged fresh attacks, raising concerns that a fragile ceasefire could collapse completely.
Several cities reportedly witnessed strikes over the past 24 hours, with strategic locations targeted in the latest round of military action. In its statement, the Indian Embassy described the security situation as “highly sensitive and dangerous” and called on Indian citizens to exercise extreme caution.
The conflict intensified further after Israel reportedly carried out airstrikes in southern Beirut on Sunday. Iran responded by launching missiles toward Israel, followed by another round of attacks and counterattacks on Monday.
Adding to regional concerns, Iran-backed Houthi rebels announced restrictions on Israeli-linked shipping in the Red Sea, one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes. The development has raised fears of wider disruptions to global trade and security.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has reportedly continued diplomatic efforts aimed at preventing a broader regional war, holding discussions with key leaders as international pressure mounts for de-escalation.
